Farm To Fork
When the sun is at its zen. Our hungry guests will have a spread of simple, healthy and tasty vegetarian fare before them for lunch. Ingredients grown at the farm will be used in the preparation. The children will learn to identify that these tomatoes came from the patch we visited in the morning and those drumsticks are from the tree next to the cattle shed.
Something New To Learn
Before the sun reaches overhead ,the children are taken around by our Farm Gurus. They learn about 'transplanting' as they walk around the paddy fields.and about crop rotation and intercropping by the time they cross the vegetable patches. They will realise the economic and ecological importance of farm animals
As You Sow, So You Reap
Knowledge is like a garden, if it is not cultivated, it cannot be harvested. It is not enough that they learn the botany and zoology of agriculture. It is not enough that they learn the physics and chemistry of reducing effort and increasing yield. It is time they learnt the actual cost of fertilizers. The economics of genetically modified crops, and the political science.
Time To Leave
And before the sun sets on the farm.they board the bus to go back home. In addition to a busload of memories, we endeavor to plant in them the seeds of awareness about the importance of the food we eat. We hope that these seeds will germinate in the fertile young minds and spread the message among family and friends.
